GRAPHIC DESIGN 2 (PART 1) TASK 2: PROXIMITY TYPOGRAPHY

Task  2

- Students would need to bring any packaging from home for this task.

- Students would need to investigate “typographic proximity” and extract

the content to produce an alternative version.

What does mean PROXIMITY?

PROXIMITY mean to grouping related elements together. Another meaning is  nearness or closeness in a series. Besides that, some other is not related be closeness to each other. This may include the heading and subheading, an author name, date and so on. That element are related should be grouped closeness together,  that elements is not related should be separated to ensure the viewer understands the two elements aren't connected. 

For Example: 

Some basic elements that should be present an a label :

1. Logo or Brand name. 

2. Picture. 

3. Net weight or Package contents. 

4. Nutritional Facts or Package information.

5. Ingredients or Material used.

6. Pricing or Barcode.

7. Expiry or Manufacturing Date.

8. Recycle , Environmentally safe or Reusable.

9. Storage, Information and instruction of use. 

10. Tagline, advertising elements. 

11. Manufacturer or distributor details. 

12. Halal or Alcoholic contents. 

This is what i choose the chocolate packaging. 

BRAND NAME design (extra work) 

- I saw the Brand name design is not suitable for chocolate, and the font is not very nicest. And then the font kerning is too far, i thought the brand name is not separated is combine together, make me confusing. So, in my opinion i can redesign the brand name don't let people confuse.

This is what i done by illustration (AI File) And based on what i understanding about the typography *PROXIMITY*. Besides that, why i draw the background is chocolate? and why the brand name put inside the chocolate background? because i want to let people know i selling chocolate. 

and then lets we see the below background why is white color background? because i need more white space not look like very complicated is more easy to read and also look like very neat and clean. I put the elements are related should be grouped together.
