GRAPHIC ACT VT3005

History of Graphic Design
The historical start of Graphic Design began with the birth of the first written language in the 3rd or 4th millennium BC and also, paintings found in Lascaux caves of 14,000 BC. Another significant time in history was the start of printing during the time between 4th to 7th centuries A.D. For these times have all contributed and influenced to our modern day advances in graphic design.

What meaning of Graphic?
Graphic mean is an image or visual representation of an object. Another meaning is the drawings and photography in the layout of a book. Thus, graphic actually contrasted with text, such as a numbers and letters, instead of the image, that’s what the graphics meaning.

Computer graphics is can be either two or three-dimensional. For before computers only can supported for 2D monochrome graphics, meaning is black and white (or black and green, depending on the monitor). Eventually, computers started to support color images. While the first machines only can support 16 or 256 colors, the most of computers now can display graphics in millions of colors.

2D graphics have two flavors called it raster and vector. Raster graphics are the most common and are using the digital photos, Web graphics, icons, and other types of images. There is a simple grid of pixels, which can each be a different color. Vector graphics is on the other hand are made up of paths, can be lines, shapes, letters, or other scalable objects. They are always to use it for creating logos, signs, and other types of drawings. Unlike raster graphics, vector graphics can be scaled to a larger size without losing quality.

3D graphics is started to become popular on 1990s, along with the 3D rendering software as CAD and 3D animation programs. On 2000 year, have a lot of video games had begun incorporating 3D graphic, since computer had enough processing power to support them. From now the most computer come with a 3D video card that handles all the 3D processing. That’s allows even basic home systems to support advanced 3D game and applications.

Design is the art of the possible. Design is the conscious, deliberate process by which element, components, potentials, tendencies, and so on are intentionally arranged in the space-time continuum in order to achieve a desired result. IDEA
He doing like of remix. So he remixed Margaret’s Font. He is a major contributor to “FUSE”, an influential publication on experimental typography.

STYLE
He has a unique style of combining beautiful designed type alongside beautiful imagery.   Not that style is a word he would willingly apply, regarding it as ‘a superficial thing, just something you use to express the ideas. The important the thing is not the style itself, but that you keep moving, keep questioning your own assumptions, breaking your own rules. For there are, he will say that in typography as in other things - no real rules; what we habitually regard as rules are really just assumptions too often unexamined。

Type in a Grid
He is the best known for being a typographer, so he every time puts down the information what he wants the type to say a story. He wants information to either scream at you or stay really quiet. Even though it might not seem like it Brody keeps his type in a grid system so that it can a comfortable viewed by the audience.

Large type

He breaks all the rules when it comes to setting great type; he would constantly change point size and colors within information so that the body copy doesn’t look the same. He usually likes to fill up a page with large copy going across the page or vertically on the page and sometimes he likes to put reversed copy with in another letter or phrase.

Chaotic type

He loves to use his type as part of the story sometimes even the type overpowers the photography. He doesn't like to composite imagery too much but when he does it usually because his type acts as if it were an image. He doesn't mind putting his type right on the top of the photography on the page. This might take away from the imagery but it is not his concern.

What he does?
·         Type design
·         Web design
·         Graphic design
·         Corporate identity
·         Newspaper / magazine design
Advertising.
